Welcome to Taita Taveta CPSB
The mandate of the Board is provided for under Sections 59 – 86 of the County Governments Act No. 17 of 2012. Specifically, Section 59 provides the functions and powers of the Board.
The County Public Service Board (CPSB) of Taita Taveta is established under Article 235 of the Constitution of Kenya 2010 and Section 57 of the County Governments Act No. 17 of 2012. The function and powers of Board are stipulated in Section 59-86 of the Act. The Board recognizes its pivotal role in facilitating the county to achieve its development goals through the provision of organization, staffing and functioning of the County Public Service in ways that ensure efficient, quality and productive services to the people of Taita Taveta.
The Board is expected to perform the functions in the county that were hitherto performed by the Public Service Commission of Kenya.
ACHIEVEMENTS OF THE BOARD
The board has done great achievements:
Strategic Plan
Developed the Strategic Plan for the Board 2020/21 - 2024/25 to assist in the systematic implementation of the Board's Core Mandate for effective & efficient service delivery
CPSB Office
Complex
Undertook renovations of offices to provide a home for the Board and a conducive working environment to improve service delivery to the public
Declaration of
DIALs
Launched Declaration of Incomes, Assets, and Liabilities (DIALs), filed reports with EACC & published DIALs to ensure ethics & good governance of public officers
Human Resource & Management Policies
Developed Human Resource & Management Policy and Procedures Manual and associated policies to guide management of staff in the County Public Service
Eradication
of casuals
Eradication of casuals in the County Public Service and putting staff to long term contracts and progressively to permanent and pensionable terms
Recruitment & Promotion of Staff
Recruited and inducted new staff members in various cadres across the county public service, undertook promotions & re-designation of Staff
CPSB
Website
Developed the CPSB website to inform and improve access to information, increase transparency and accountability, & progressively digitize processes
Organizational Structure
Participated in the development of the county organizational structure and subsequent approval of first staff establishment in the county
