SABINA WAKIO MAGHANGA

Ms Sabina Wakio Maghanga hails from Kidaya/Ngerenyi in Mwatate Sub-County. She was appointed a Member of the County Public Service Board on 27^th August 2020. She is the Vice Chairperson of the Board and also serving as the Chairperson of Finance, Planning and Administration Committee of the Board. In addition, she is a member of the Human Resource and management Committee of the Board.

Ms Sabina Maghanga is career Civil Servant who has worked for the National Government for about 36 years. She served as the Director of Planning in charge of Macro Planning and International Cooperation in the National Treasury and Planning. Before then, she worked in the same capacity in the Ministry of Devolution and Planning. Her previous job involved coordination of national economic policy formulation and promotion of regional and international economic cooperation towards realization of Vision 2030. Some of her work included preparation of Kenya Vision 2030 and Coordination of its Five-Year successive Medium-Term Plans (MTPs) 2008-2012 ,2013-2017 and 2018-2022 and Sector Specific Plans. These plans were the basis for preparation of County Integrated Development Plans (CIDPs) and County Strategic Plans.

As an Economist, Ms. Maghanga has a wide experience in policy formulation, planning, coordination, budgeting and economic partnerships. She was incharge of preparing Medium-Term Expenditure Framework (MTEF) for various Sector Working Groups, development and tracking of programmes and Projects for funding under the Tokyo International Conference for Development Framework (TICAD) and, coordination of South-south and Triangular Cooperation in Kenya. She also led in the negotiation of the development Cluster of the EAC-EU economic partnership Agreements.

Ms Maghanga previously served in the Kenya National Bureau of Statistics (KNBS) and Kenya Institute for Public Policy and Analysis (KIPPRA) Boards as well as BOG Member for Mwafuga and Mlamba Secondary Schools. She holds a Masters Degree from York University, Canada and a Bachelors Degree from the University of Nairobi.
